5 Things To Do Before 2018

Hello my beautiful princes and princesses.!! :) Welcome to this Christmassy blog post.!! :) Today I will be sharing with you the 5 things that you can do to before 2018 to start fresh and prepare for the new year.!! :) This is of course my personal opinion on the matter, if you have a different perspective that is totally fine and I respect it.!! :) You can create your own list of things that you would like to do before the new year, even really simple things that you would want to accomplish before the new year, such as finishing a project that you feel too lazy to do, or workout more, or trying to eat more mindfully or even just making your morning coffee, or calling someone you love, whatever it may be, just take a piece of paper and a pen, or write in your computer all those things you would like to get done before 2018.!! :) Here are my suggestions for the few final days of 2017 (and even 2018 if you'd like.!!), enjoy.!! :)

1. Take care of your body

For the end of 2017 do a few good things for your body. Try to sleep and eat well, keep your senses satisfied and workout at least 3 times a week. Having a good nights sleep is really inportant as well as having a balanced diet. Don't be too strict with yourself though, eat the cookie you've been craving, or that slice of pie or chocolate cake, I mean don't overdo it, but treat yourself sometimes, it won't hurt.!! Ohh and enjoy that bubble bath or long shower you've been postponing for so long, watch that movie you love, smell and touch that beautiful rose.!! :) If you are too lazy to workout you can go for a long walk or play some music and dance to it, as long as you do a physical activity, you will notice a difference soon, and most of all it will make you feel better.!! :)

2. Pay attention to your soul

For this step I would like you to focus and ask yourself; Am I truly happy.? Do I do at least a few of the things I want often.? Although we do realize it's not possible to be happy 24/7, do we keep replying with a "no" to these two questions.? It is indeed important to care for our bodies, but do we also care for our souls and mental health.? If you ask yourself everyday until the end of the year these questions and the answer is always "no", then it's time to make a change, and reevaluate some of your everyday choices. Perhaps praying would help you, meditating, talking to a family member or a friend or a psychologist, and the list goes on. Do not keep feeling trapped and unable to escape your daily life. We are supposed to enjoy our lives and truly live, not just survive. Do what you have to do, to do what you want to do.!! :)

3. Read

I honestly can't stress this enough. Pick a book of your choice and start reading it. Not only it benefits your brain, it also broadens your horizons.!! It makes you more welcoming of new ideas and perspectives which are not the same as yours, or even thoughts that might have crossed your mind at some point but you never really analyzed or got to their core before. It opens you up to a new world, a new story, and it can give you hope and inspire you to live a better life for yourself and the people around you. It could be as simple as a childrens story.!! Why not.? Even these stories can teach us.!! :) If that sounds too childish for you, read a simple magazine.!! If you would prefer a book start with one that is easy to understand and work your way up from there, you will be amazed by the results.!! :)

4. Socialize

This is the time of the year that we all socialize, whether it is with our family or friends, or even with strangers. Pick up that phone call, send that message, write that letter (I hope people still write letters.!! :) ), communicate.!! And when you do meet up, instead of spending your evening feeling bored and playing with your phone, try to actually listen what the other person has to say and engage in the conversation. You will be surspised at how many interesting things you may learn through that process.!! :) Also, try to help others who are suffering during this time of year (and during the whole year for that matter), like the homeless, the strays, the children or the elderly, people who need people like us to assist, protect and care for them. Remember that even a small donation to a charity can be important, or even better volunteering for some organization can change somebody's life.

5. Create

Last but not least, create something you would like to. It could be a small or larger DIY, it could be writing your own book or poems, creating music or video content, cooking, drawing, planting a tree, anything at all as long as it's productive, positive and meaningful to you. Of course it should be something that makes you happy and fulfilled and adds to your lifestyle in some way.!! Put on some music you love and get to it.!! :)

Movie Review: City Lights (1931)

Hello my beautiful princes and princesses.!! :) Welcome to another blog post, today we are going to be talking about the famous 1931 silent film " City Lights " by Charlie Chaplin . Why you should watch it:  This masterpiece is an all time classic movie. Charlie Chaplin, as a filmmaker and actor, is a hard working perfectionist and that is pretty obvious throughout the movie. It is easy to see that he put lots of effort in the creation and filming of this movie. The film is funny, witty, playful, emotional, romantic and visually pleasing, while it depicts beautifully the fashion, habits and lifestyle of the early 1930s to some extent. Charlie Chaplin as the Tramp is a charismatic performer, in a role that will certainly make you jiggle if not laugh at his silliness and clumsiness. At the same time, he remains a hopeless romantic whose kindness and good deeds help change other peoples lives, despite the fact that he ends up paying the price of his kind gestures...
